Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Cemetery and Mausoleum has announced Brian Kruse as its new Executive Director. Kruse brings extensive experience in both funeral service and public leadership along with 10 years as Douglas County Election Commissioner. His appointment reflects Forest Lawn’s continued commitment to trusted local leadership and compassionate care for families. Kruse succeeds Steve Brunken, who retired after a long career in the funeral service profession.

Kruse’s background uniquely combines professional expertise with a long history of public service and community involvement. A proud lifelong resident of the Omaha area, he is known for his integrity, commitment to service and ability to build relationships in the community.

Founded in 1885, Forest Lawn has served generations of families and remains one of the region’s most recognized memorial parks. Spanning 349 acres, the property includes a funeral home, cemetery, mausoleum, cremation services and preplanning options in one location, along with historic grounds, gardens, an arboretum and the Forever Friends Pet Cemetery. Under Kruse’s leadership, Forest Lawn looks forward to continuing its legacy of service while strengthening community connections for years to come.
