For the seventh consecutive year, the YMCA of Greater Omaha (metroymca.org) has been recognized by the American Red Cross as a Top Training Provider, earning the 2025 award for its outstanding commitment to lifesaving education. Through high-quality instruction in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid and other safety certifications, the YMCA equips hundreds of individuals each year with the knowledge and confidence to respond in emergencies.
This continued recognition reflects the dedication of YMCA instructors and staff who help strengthen the safety and preparedness of our community. The award celebrates the YMCA’s longstanding commitment to excellence in training and its role as a trusted leader in health and safety.
Founded in 1866 by a Union Pacific employee, the YMCA has grown into one of the region’s leading nonprofits, serving Nebraska and Iowa through 14 facilities, four early learning centers and multiple out-of-school time sites.
The Y helps children and teens build confidence, learn new skills and form lasting friendships through sports, swim lessons, early learning and afterschool programs.
