YMCA of Greater Omaha is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a $649,300 grant from United Way of the Midlands (www.UnitedWayMidlands.org). Thanks to the generosity of the United Way donors, the YMCA of Greater Omaha will be able to continue providing life-changing opportunities for more than 20,000 youth, adults and families in the Omaha metro area. These programs include aquatics education, early childhood education for at-risk youth, Ready in Five – IC school readiness, Ready to Learn, school year & summer Out-of-School-Time, Teen Safety Net program and youth sports for at-risk youth.

With the help from this grant, the YMCA of Greater Omaha is able to offer the following services and community support: Ready in Five, Ready to Learn, aquatics programs, early childhood education programs, Out-of-School-Time programs, the Y Teen Safety Net, and youth sports programs.

YMCA of Greater Omaha strengthens our community with programs that focus on three key areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This includes programs that support educational achievement, alternatives to teen violence, health/wellness, chronic disease intervention, early childhood education, summer day camp, water safety, refugee assimilation, homework help, special needs integration and family programs.
