The Salvation Army’s Burrows Center Helps Families in Need

The Salvation Army’s Burrows Center (www.salarmyomaha.org) is helping families in need bridge the gap as COVID-19 continues to have a financial impact on individuals and families in the metro area. The Burrows Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. The pantry offers canned goods, frozen foods, boxed nonperishable food items, and fresh produce to ensure that individuals and families get the nutrition they need to succeed in school and on the job.

The Burrows Center typically fills as many as 8,000 grocery orders annually. They also help those who are struggling to make ends meet by assisting with utility payments and providing seasonal assistance, including the distribution of free fans during the summer months and backpacks and school supplies at the start of the school year. Donations of nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the Burrows Center, 6101 NW Radial Hwy. Monetary donations can be made at www.salarmyomaha.org.

The Salvation Army of Omaha serves the greater Omaha metropolitan area through its multiple worship centers and service locations. From feeding programs and homelessness prevention to mental health and older adult services, The Salvation Army meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all people without discrimination.
