Project Harmony Offers Online Safety Training, Managing Screen Time

Project Harmony (ProjectHarmony.com) is offering an Online Safety on training August 8 that specializes in educating parents, caregivers, and educators with the knowledge and resources needed to protect children from online dangers including predators, cyberbullies, and threats related to gaming, social networking, and mobile devices. The training will take place at Project Harmony, 11949 Q St., from 10 to 11:30 a.m. As a result of this training, participants can expect to:

  • Recognize and understand the differences in some of the most commonly used apps by children and teens
  • Explore a series of tools that can help navigate technology use
  • Learn ways to engage children and teens in ongoing discussions about online safety

Online safety is a shared responsibility between the public, the internet industry, and the legal community. However, parents, caregivers, and educators remain the first line of defense in protecting their children against the potential dangers lurking online. Unfortunately, most are ill-equipped, uninformed, and often overwhelmed when it comes to online safety. This online safety training will help educate, equip, and empower you to prevent any dangers from impacting your child, thereby protecting their innocence.
