The American Heart Association (heart.org) has announced Dr. Michael and Danielle Ash as chairs of the 2026 Greater Omaha Heart and Stroke Ball, set for February 14 at the CHI Health Center.
For more than a century, the American Heart Association has worked to advance health equity, scientific research and community education. The Heart Ball celebrates this mission and the people who make it possible.
“Heart disease and stroke touch nearly every family—ours included,” said Danielle Ash. “Michael has cared for many patients impacted by these conditions, and we lost his grandmother to heart disease. That loss reminds us of the value of every heartbeat. We’re honored to lead this event in her memory and support the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association.”
Dr. Ash is an internal medicine physician and CEO of the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine.
“Dr. and Mrs. Ash are passionate leaders whose commitment will inspire others to join this important work,” said Sarah Tselentis, Heart Ball Director. “Their leadership will help drive meaningful change across Omaha.”
The 2026 Heart and Stroke Ball will highlight survivor stories, honor volunteers, and raise critical funds through an evening of dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
