Capitalizing on last year’s incredibly successful program, the Omaha Home for Boys recently launched the second year of their nationally-recognized Helping with HorsepowerTM Bike Rebuild program on January 21st.  The finished, customized motorcycle will be unveiled Tuesday, May 13, the final night of the project, at the Omaha Home for Boys campus at 52nd Street and Ames Avenue.

Helping with Horsepower is a hands-on project that has been used in eight other states across the country as a different way to help at-risk youth learn how to overcome life’s obstacles and realize that, like their lives, a motorcycle can be rebuilt better than it was before.  Over the course of 18 weeks, volunteer Jeremy Colchin of Black Rose Machine Shop, who returns for a second year to facilitate the program, will work with youth every Tuesday evening on the bike, partially donated by Loess Hills Harley-Davidson. Superior Dental Health (www.superiordentalhealthne.com), with offices in Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island, is the 2014 Helping with Horsepower Bike Sponsor.
