The North Omaha Community Care Council (NOCCC) will host its 3rd annual Community Impact Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on November 6 at the Goodwill Industries, located at 4805 N. 72nd Street.

The luncheon will honor not-for-profit social service agencies, outstanding youth activism and commercial collaboration in service to the north Omaha community. Kenny McMorris, CEO of Charles Drew Health Center, Inc., is the keynote speaker. He will discuss “Choices, Challenges and Changes.”

Awardees will be honored in three categories: Spirit of Business Award; Spirit of Advocacy Award; and Spirit of Youth Award. This year’s honorees include: Frontier Bag Company – Judy Pearl Lee for Spirit of Business; Sharif and Gabrielle Liwaru for Spirit of Advocacy; and Asia Nared for Spirit of Youth. The luncheon also serves to celebrate and raise awareness of the quiet, effective service of the NOCCC to the north Omaha community.

The NOCCC is a 17-year coalition of not-for-profit health and social service representatives, community activists and retail business representatives servicing the diverse needs of greater north Omaha. Originally created as community outreach liaison between north Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, today the NOCCC is an independent, not-for-profit 501(C)3 corporation.
