Over 5,500 children’s books and over 3,500 toys will be donated to the Open Door Mission’s Educational and Project Santa Programs by the Midwest International Trade Association (MITA) (opendoormission.org) members, along with the AIT Worldwide Logistics Book Program.

Last year MITA donated 7,000+ new books and toys, including books for children, pre teens and adults. This is the 25th year MITA has joined with the AIT Worldwide Logistics Book Program to donate books to the Open Door Mission’s Educational Program to benefit the homeless and needy. The Open Door Mission is located at 2828 N. 23rd St. East, Omaha, NE.

“These last few years have been difficult for everyone, especially our neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty. We continue to see a growing number of people needing our services, which means many more families are struggling to put food on the table, and too many are going hungry. Adding to this crisis, the cost of food for Open Door Mission has increased while donations have declined. We are deeply grateful for your faithful and compassionate generosity toward our most vulnerable neighbors and for helping promote literacy, which is essential to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty,” said Dr. Candace Gregory, President/CEO of Open Door Mission.”
