The Omaha Home for Boys welcomes the community to the 20th Anniversary Open House for its Jacobs’ Place Transitional Living program Thursday, Sept. 24th.

In addition to food and an opportunity to learn more about the Home’s transitional living program, there will be apartment tours and other fun activities. Festivities start at 4 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. Because of limited parking, people are encouraged to park at the Home’s main campus, and transportation will be provided to the Jacobs’ Place campus, located at 48th and Cuming Streets.

Jacobs’ Place is named for former Omaha Home for Boys board officer Warren L. “Pat” Jacobs, and original funding came from his estate upon his death in 1991. It had been his passion and goal to establish a transitional living program at the Home. Jacobs’ Place introduced females to the Home’s continuum of care for the first time in its long history.

Jacobs’ Place is a transitional living program located in an apartment complex about three miles south of the Omaha Home for Boys’ main campus. It is a resource for youth ages 17-20 who struggle with a lack of housing, support, education and independent living skills. The program provides a skills-based structure, safe environment and caring staff to help young men and women move toward living independently.

If you’d like to attend this celebration, the Home is asking that guests RSVP to Brandy Gustoff by September 16 at bgustoff@omahahomeforboys.org or (402) 558-0366 Ext. 111.
