Open Door Mission (opendoormission.org) will be helping more people in our community struggling to make ends meet during the holiday season as they have seen an increase in people needing their services. They need businesses, groups, individuals and families to host a drive or shop the Amazon Wish List. You can help by hosting a Turkey N Fixins Food drive for Thanksgiving, Project Santa Toy Drive for Christmas or Christmas Bells Drive.
Needed food items: stuffing, mashed potatoes, canned fruit, turkey, ham, etc. Open Door Mission’s Project Santa provides toys for kids in the community so that everyone will have gifts for Christmas. Suggested items: toddler toys, action figures, dolls, Barbies, toy cars, Play-Doh sets, Play Doh! Sets, etc. You can provide gifts for hurting adults at Christmas with a Christmas Bells drive. Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring HOPE for lasting change. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe shelter beds to homeless men, women and children, serves over 5,366 nutritious meals and provides preventative measures to more than 1,270 people living in poverty. In addition, they offer more than 40 free programs and services to the community, providing pathways to stability, self-sufficiency, and hope.
