The Omaha Home Instead Senior Care office serving the Omaha metro recently participated in a paint-a-thon through Brush Up Nebraska.  Brush Up Nebraska has been serving the community for 25 years, and is designed to help low-income homeowners who are over 60 years old or permanently disabled at any age, and who live in Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, by painting the exteriors of their homes. Since the program’s inception, volunteer teams have painted 2,578 homes. The goal for 2014 was to paint 85 homes with the help of over 2,000 volunteers.

Home Instead CAREGivers, staff, and family members volunteered their time to paint a senior’s home on Decatur Street on August 16th.  The prior weekend, a group of Home Instead volunteers also prepared the home for painting and in addition to taking care of some yard work for the senior homeowner.
