Hiya, the Omaha-based teen-founded jewelry and wellness brand dedicated to advancing youth mental health awareness, is currently building its Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and inviting community partners, mentors, and supporters to join the effort. Founded by teen entrepreneur Alejandra Wells, Hiya was created to spark honest conversations around mental health and empower young people to prioritize well-being through creativity, peer connection, and advocacy. As the brand continues to grow, the Youth Advisory Board will play a critical role in shaping programs, partnerships, and youth-centered initiatives that reflect real teen experiences.

The Hiya Youth Advisory Board will be made up of engaged high school students in grades 9–12 who are passionate about leadership, community involvement, and creating solutions to issues impacting teens, particularly mental health. Modeled after established Youth Advisory Councils nationwide, the application process will include written or video responses demonstrating leadership, lived experience, communication skills, and problem-solving, along with supporting materials such as resumes and recommendations.

In addition to recruiting student leaders, Hiya is actively seeking community partners, mental health professionals, educators, nonprofits, and business leaders who are interested in mentoring youth, collaborating on programming, and supporting teen-led advocacy efforts. “Teens deserve a seat at the table when conversations about their mental health are happening,” said Wells. “This advisory board is about listening to young voices, building confidence, and creating real pathways for impact.” To learn more about Hiya, apply for the Youth Advisory Board, or partnership opportunities, email info@GoShopHiya.com.
