On Feb. 14 at the Holland Performing Arts Center’s Scott Hall, Hero’s Encore (herosencore.org) graduated its inaugural cohort of 10 Veterans and First Responders before more than 150 attendees. The event was presented by WoodmenLife, with executive sponsorship from Bellevue University and Corwin Toyota of Bellevue, and co-hosted with Omaha Performing Arts.
The organization operates a structured, nine-month, performance based development platform that moves participants from foundational instruction to public stage performance. The first cohort produced seven original songs and concluded with a live graduation event.
Graduates transition into the Encore Artist Development Program, where they serve as peer instructors and community performers, extending impact beyond the initial cohort.
In 2026, Hero’s Encore will operate two cohorts of 20 participants, with a goal of serving 40 Heroes annually. The direct program investment is approximately $1,250 per Hero, fully underwritten through corporate and community partnerships so there is no cost to participating Heroes.
Corporate leaders interested in underwriting a 2026 cohort or forming a long-term partnership are invited to connect with Hero’s Encore at herosencore.org.
