The Great Plains Black History Museum (gpblackhistorymuseum.org) is proud to announce its 50th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration and Hall of Fame Recognition, a landmark event honoring five decades of preserving, uplifting, and sharing Black history across the region.
Set for Friday, June 19, from noon to 2 p.m. at The Venue, 2120 N. 30th Street, the celebration will bring together community members, supporters, and history-makers for an afternoon of reflection, recognition, and inspiration.
As part of the Museum’s 50th Anniversary, the GPBHM Hall of Fame Ceremony will recognize 50 extraordinary leaders whose vision, courage, and contributions helped shape the cultural, civic, and historical landscape of the Great Plains. The event will honor both pioneers of the past and champions of today whose work continues to inspire future generations.
“This anniversary celebration is a moment to pause and recognize the people whose leadership, sacrifice, talent, and service helped shape the story of our communities,” said Pastor Portia Cavitt, Great Plains Black History Board President. “The Hall of Fame recognition is a tribute to those whose legacies deserve to be remembered, celebrated, and carried forward.”
Tickets for the luncheon are $50 per person and include both the luncheon and a one-year membership to the Great Plains Black History Museum.
Tickets may be purchased online at gpblackhistorymuseum.org or in person at the Museum, located at 2221 N. 24th Street, during public hours Wednesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m.
