Starting in June, shopping with Foster Care Closet (fostercarecloset.org) is available to youth in Foster Care in the Eastern Service Area! Youth in Douglas and Sarpy County are now able to shop with Foster Care Closet for NEW clothing! Youth can choose five tops, five bottoms, a pair of shoes, seven pairs of socks, seven pairs of underwear, pajamas and a season appropriate jacket in the first 90 days they are in care. Foster Care Closet has partnered with Release in Omaha to create a space for families to pick up their clothes.

Foster Care Closet has been serving youth in foster care since 2006. They have grown from handing out used clothes from their founder’s house to a statewide organization now serving kids in all 93 of Nebraska’s counties. Their staff is dedicated to restoring dignity to youth in crisis and work with urgency to meet the immediate needs of the kids in care.

To shop for new clothes with Foster Care Closet, please call (402) 803-1765 to set up a time to shop. Your clothing will be available for pick up at Release the Monday or Thursday after the youth makes their clothing selections.
