The Durham Museum is pleased to announce that it has received a $100,000 grant from the Iowa West Foundation. These funds will support the museum’s Facility Maintenance Initiative capital campaign currently underway.

The Iowa West Foundation’s contribution to the approximately $2 million campaign will enable the museum to address much-needed facility upgrades, deferred maintenance and modernization projects at historic Union Station. The campaign comes at a crucial time as the museum continues to grow as an educational resource and tourism destination for the region. Over the past decade, the museum has experienced an unprecedented era of institutional growth. Annual attendance has more than doubled from 95,000 in 2004 to more than 205,000 last year, while household memberships have increased from 2,500 to more than 7,000. In 2015, The Durham will celebrate another milestone as it marks the 40th anniversary of Union Station in service as a museum.
