The Nebraska Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is pleased to announce Shannon Gubbels, former Executive Director of 10 years, is once again at the helm of the Foundation’s local efforts after an 18 month hiatus.

The long time fundraiser moved on to the for profit arena after a banner year in 2010.  Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a special event fundraising organization with 80 chapters across the country.  Locally the Foundation conducts a walk, beer tasting event, golf tournament and several dinner/auction events raising over $1 million annually.

The Foundation continues to make significant progress in treating cystic fibrosis. In January of this year the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Kalydeco, the first drug to address the underlying cause of the disease for a small segment of the CF population.  This progress combined with Gubbels passion made the recent Executive Director opening a perfect union.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a donor-supported nonprofit organization.
