The Community Foundation for Western Iowa celebrated the launch of its new initiative, SHARE Iowa (www.sharegoodiowa.org), on September 13 at Iowa Western Community College. Nearly 150 guests attended the event that featured live music, food, networking, and a special ribbon-cutting with the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce and Western Iowa Development Association.

Iowa Western Community College President Dr. Daniel Kinney and his wife, Jennifer, were hosts of the launch party event at the Arts Center on Iowa Western’s campus. Launch Party sponsors included: Travis Castle, American Family Insurance Castle & Associates; TS Bank; Keast Auto Center; Midwest Ag Services, Inc.; PowerTech; Slate Architecture; Linda Primmer, State Farm Insurance; and Omaha Data Science Academy.

Similar to SHARE Omaha, SHARE Iowa will connect Iowans to nonprofit organizations through charitable donations, in-kind gifts and volunteerism. The Community Foundation for Western Iowa hopes to expand SHARE Iowa’s footprint with increased engagement and nonprofit capacity-building to the following nine western Iowa counties: Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby.

SHARE Iowa is supported by the Community Foundation for Western Iowa and other Iowa funders including the Charles E. Lakin Foundation, Google, and Iowa Council of Foundations. Learn more at www.sharegoodiowa.org.
