On Thursday, August 20th Canvas & Cabernet in Aksarben Village will host the 2nd annual canvas painting and fundraising event to benefit Community 360°. Following the success of last year’s event, attendees may now choose from one of two painting sessions to be held from 4-6 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wine and appetizers will be served. Nearly half of all residents in nursing homes do not receive visitors. Research indicates a lack of visitors leads to severe loneliness, depression, and increased risk for diseases and death. Residents who do receive visitors need fewer medications and experience a higher quality of life. Community 360° recruits and trains trusted volunteers to visit nursing homes throughout Omaha, brightening days and ensuring that our elderly are not forgotten.
