Carole’s House of Hope Celebrates New Home, Receives Angels in Adoption Award

On October 8, a ribbon cutting was held with the Greater Omaha Chamber to celebrate Carole’s House of Hope’s (www.caroleshouseofhope.org) new home—the former Carolyn Scott Rainbow House at 7815 Harney St. Though Carole’s House has been operating out of the Rainbow House since 2016, Children’s Hospital & Medical Center has officially donated the space to the organization. Founders Carole and David Kinlow are overjoyed by this generous act.

In addition, at the event, Congressman Don Bacon presented Carole and David Kinlow with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI) Angels in Adoption® Award. Since its inception in 1999, the Angels in Adoption® Leadership Program and Gala has upheld a tradition of celebrating the extraordinary efforts of individuals, couples, families, and organizations who work tirelessly to advocate for children in need of a family. CCAI awards a select number of National Angels in Adoption® honorees. These are individuals whose contributions in the fields of adoption or foster care have an impact on a national scale.

Carole’s House of Hope was established in 2011 as an organization purposed to transform the lives of young women and mothers. Carole’s House of Hope provides transitional living for young women and mothers who have aged out of foster care or have become homeless. The home-like environment, paired with innovative programs and services, encourages self-sufficiency and independence, promotes healing and ultimately restores hope. Carole’s House of Hope’s vision is to ignite hope in women and mothers and inspire them to discover their individual promise, purpose, and power to influence their families, impact their communities, and change their world.
