Brownell-Talbot School (www.brownell.edu), Nebraska’s only private, independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school, hosted its 3rd Annual Walk-Run, “A Day Without Shoes,” on April 17. The all-school walk-run invites the students, teachers and families of Brownell-Talbot to participate, and to purchase a new pair of shoes or flip-flops in their own size to donate at the event. The event started with a kick off rally and shoe donation, followed by the walk-run and festivities afterwards. Students had the option to spend the remainder of the day shoeless for a full experience.

All donations will benefit Brownell-Talbot’s 2014-2015 community partners, Youth Emergency Services (YESOmaha.org) and Completely KIDS (www.completelykids.org). YES aims to serve homeless and at-risk youth by providing critical resources that empower them to become self-sufficient. Completely KIDS ensures families have access to the knowledge and skills necessary to break the cycle of poverty.
