The Omaha American Heart Association is anticipating 700 social, business, medical, and community leaders to attend this year’s Heart Ball presented by Lexus of Omaha on Saturday, February 1 at Embassy Suites – LaVista. The black tie event is celebrating its 26th year with a “Wild About Heart” theme.  The 2014 Heart Ball Honorary Chairs are David and Lori Scott and the Heart Ball Chairs are Trev and Angie Alberts.

The evening begins at 5:00 pm with the Patron Party and crowning of the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center Heart Prince, Jake Alexander. From 6:00-7:25 pm attendees will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items and participate in the bid board auction, while enjoying cocktail hour. At 7:30 pm the presentation portion of the evening begins, which includes an Open Your Heart Pledge, dinner and a live auction, followed by live music and dancing at the Pulse Party.  Money raised from the event will be used to fund live-saving research in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Currently the American Heart Association is funding $2.9 million for research in Nebraska including ten awards at Creighton University and UNMC in Omaha.
