The 27th annual BRUSH UP NEBRASKA Paint-A-Thon is set for August 12-15, and this year over 1,700 BRUSH UP NEBRASKA volunteers from business, organizations, and churches in the Omaha metropolitan area are gearing up to paint the homes of seniors in our community. BRUSH UP NEBRASKA has been serving the community for 26 years and is designed to help low-income homeowners who are over 60 years old or permanently disabled at any age, and who live in Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska and Council Bluffs, IA, by painting the exteriors of their homes. Since the program’s inception, volunteer teams have painted 2,654 homes. In 2015 66 teams of volunteers will paint 62 homes during the yearly community initiative. An independent selection committee of professionals from housing and human services agencies has identified the qualified homeowners who will have their homes painted, which is done at NO COST to the homeowner.

The 2015 BRUSH UP NEBRASKA Paint-A-Thon is made possible through the support of generous contributions from many area businesses, foundations, organizations and individuals. For more information, visit www.brushupnebraska.org.
