UNMC College of Nursing Ranks 29th Among Most Affordable Online RN to BSN Programs

The University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC) College of Nursing has been ranked number 29 in the 2016 ranking of the most affordable online RN to BSN programs by Top RN to BSN, a leading nursing school search resource.

The ranking includes only fully accredited schools that offer an online RN to BSN program. Programs were compared based on: tuition for students taking core nursing classes, tuition for those taking nursing classes; General education requirements; and  ‘net cost’ (average cost of tuition and fees minus financial aid) as determined by the U.S. Department of Education.

“We are delighted that our program’s affordability is being recognized in this way,” said Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., Dean of the UNMC College of Nursing. “With concerns about the cost of higher education, we are committed to both the highest level of excellence in our programs and affordable costs to make it possible for more nurses to achieve higher levels of education.

This is especially important in today’s complex and changing clinical care environment, with clinical agencies and health systems moving rapidly toward more population in health care, transitional care, care coordination, and continuing strong emphases on patient safety, quality of care, and optimal patient experiences.”

For students who need just the core nursing classes, the most expensive school ranked is around $12,000, and the least expensive is below $4,000. The list can be found by searching “2016” at www.toprntobsn.com.
