Partnerships in Aging, in collaboration with the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging, will be offering a FREE class series called Powerful Tools for Caregivers in the Benson area of Omaha (location TBD) this spring. This class series is based on a highly successful program developed at Stanford University’s Patient Education Center, and is devoted to teaching the art of self-care to caregivers of individuals who have chronic health concerns and/or disabilities. During a six-week course, participants discover how to thrive as individuals while managing caregiving responsibilities. This program is being offered to family caregivers of a person(s) age 55 and older living with a chronic health concern and/or disability.  It is recommended that participants attend all six sessions, as the sessions build on one another. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 9-11:30 am on the following dates: March 26, April 2, April 9, April 16, April 23, and April 30.

Financial assistance for cost of respite care and/or the cost of transportation to and from the meetings will be offered on a case by case basis.  Refreshments will be available for FREE! Please register no later than March 12 by calling Janet Miller or Elizabeth Chentland, class facilitators, at (402) 996-8444, or by sending an email to Elizabeth at echentland@gmail.com.  Register NOW as space is limited for this valuable series!
