Free Mental Health First Aid Training Provided by Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare

Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare (regionsix.com) has organized a free eight-hour course that will provide mental health first aid training to the community on February 29, starting at 8:30 a.m. The class will take place at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, located at 510 N 93rd St. Attendees should enter the church through the north door and go to room 101. Refreshments will be provided, but participants will need to bring their own lunch.

The training will equip people to be able to assist their loved ones if they are dealing with long or short term mental health issues. Participants will be taught how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of many types of mental illness. Attendees who complete this course will be certified in Mental Health First Aid for three years through Region 6.
