Boys Town Pediatrics and Hy-Vee are joining forces in 2015 to create a special Nutrition Series Parent Talk segment.  This program will teach families how to incorporate and maintain a healthy lifestyle through educational seminars and cooking classes.  The first class, Breastfeeding 101, was recently held on January 17th at the Hy-Vee on 156th and Maple.  The class covered strategies for success, how to avoid complications and nutrients that should be consumed for the optimal health of mother and baby.

Like Boys Town Pediatrics’ traditional Parent Talk classes, these nutrition sessions are free to the community and provide attendees with nutritious, practical and affordable recipes to take home and try with their families.  Unlike previous classes, these will be held at Hy-Vee locations in the Omaha-area and will feature both Boys Town pediatricians and Hy-Vee dietitians.  They will also provide a more hands-on learning environment.

In addition to in-person courses, the nutrition series will reach out to the community using social media to share recipes, educational articles and event information. Don’t miss out; make sure to follow Boys Town Pediatrics on Facebook and Twitter!  Registration for each free class is required and can be completed at BoysTownPediatrics.org.
