VODEC Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Remodeled Property in Omaha

VODEC showcased its newly remodeled property during an official ribbon cutting with the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce on December 15th.  Located at 7110 F Street, friends and family were invited to share the moment of recognition after the project was completed.  VODEC’s F Street property houses the main offices of the Nebraska operations, the pre-vocational training work site, and facilities for the CARES and ELM programs.   Amongst the upgrades was a new spacious parking lot for staff and clientele.  Accommodating the vehicles that transport people with disabilities, supplies and equipment is crucial for VODEC.

VODEC was established in 1968 when a group of parents, teachers, and elected officials banded together to create a community-based employment program for their loved ones with intellectual disabilities.  To date, more families have joined VODEC helping the organization to create many programs that serve hundreds of families in the Midwest.

VODEC’s mission is to provide services to help people with disabilities live, work and participate in the community in the least restrictive environment to achieve their full potential.  These improvements make that mission easier every day.

VODEC provides day programs, employment programs and residential programs.  For more information about VODEC, please call (712) 256-5611 or visit http://www.vodec.org/.
