A Special Sitter is proud to celebrate two years of serving the special needs community in Greater Omaha and Lincoln in January 2015. A Special Sitter provides professional in home care to children and young adults with special needs and disabilities.
The company was the brain child of Co-founders, Richard and Kim Troia. As parents of four children, two with special needs, the Troia’s understand firsthand the challenges in raising children with special needs.
In the past two years, A Special Sitter has partnered with approximately 100 families in the care of special needs children by matching professional, trained caregivers to a family’s specific needs. A Special Sitter caregiver assists families by offering child care, while parents are working or respite care when parents need a break. Caregivers offer companionship services such as homework assistance, hobbies, going on outings, and playing games. They also assist clients in personal care such as, bathing assistance, dressing, mobility, meal preparation and feedings. As an additional service to their clients caregivers will help with light housekeeping and errands.
A Special Sitter provides a sense of peace and hope into families with special needs members by providing professional in-home care services for the past two years and with continued growth for many years to come.
