Cox Business and Inc. magazine will again partner on an innovative one-day live event, specifically designed for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Slated for the evening of Thursday, April 30 at the Holland Performing Arts Center, the second annual Get Started Omaha will offer a pitch your start-up business idea competition, an expert panel discussion geared toward small business owners and a networking reception both before and after the competition.

Get Started Omaha will highlight up to five Inspiring entrepreneurs who will pitch their idea to a distinguished panel of experts. Finalists will have 2.5 minutes to pitch their business idea and will receive immediate feedback from the panel. The panelists will then determine the best pitch and name the winner of the prize package valued at $8,500.

Local businesses not competing in the pitch competition are encouraged to attend this free networking experience as it provides a unique opportunity to learn from experts first-hand on how to secure funding, leverage digital media and plan business growth strategies.  This year’s expert panel includes Kris Frieswick, Senior Editor, Inc.; Ken Kraft, Vice President of Marketing, Cox Business; and Britt Michaelian, writer, producer and entrepreneur.

Get Started Omaha will begin with a complimentary cocktails and networking reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by an unforgettable educational opportunity for local businesses. An interactive Q&A will take place with the expert panel and live audience immediately following the pitch competition.  For more information or to reserve your spot, visit www.coxblue.com/getstartedomaha.
