The Omaha Symphony’s 2013/14 season ticket television commercial was recently awarded a First Place MIDI Award at a regional advertising competition.  The 30-second spot was produced by Jim Adams of Cox Media, using footage commissioned by the Omaha Symphony and shot by Chad Bishoff. The commercial can be viewed on YouTube. The Mid-America Cable Show recognizes excellence in cable advertising, marketing and promotion, and cable programming in a series or single episode. Participating states include Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The symphony’s commercial was awarded First Place in Cable Advertising for more than 50,000 subscribers, the largest category in the competition. This category included cable operations from Kansas City, St. Louis, Des Moines, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Houston, among others.  In addition to the MIDI award, the commercial has also been nominated in the local Addy competition.

The television commercial was broadcast on Cox Cable channels in spring of 2013. It helped spur the symphony’s high number of season ticket purchases for the 2013/14 season, including almost $40,000 more in subscription dollars over 2012/13, and an increase of more than 350 season ticket holders. The Omaha Symphony’s 2014/15 season will be announced in late February, with season tickets going on sale in March.  For tickets or more information about the Omaha Symphony, please call (402) 342-3560 or visit omahasymphony.org.
