In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. This desire to improve as many lives as possible has grown to include sight-saving operations. With each pair of sunglasses purchased, TOMS helps to restore sight, whether it be through prescription glasses, sight-saving surgeries, or medical treatment. The One for One Movement has provided over two million children in forty countries with shoes. In addition to shoes, the One for One Movement is helping to give sight in more than 13 countries worldwide.
