Nebraska Health Imaging (NHI), a full modality outpatient imaging center providing MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray services, has acquired local competitor, Omaha Imaging, in a transaction completed in August. The Omaha Imaging center, located on North 87th Street, has closed and the business of both operations will be consolidated into the Nebraska Health Imaging center located at 7819 Dodge Street.
In an upgrade that will benefit previous patients and referring physicians of Omaha Imaging, Nebraska Health Imaging offers MRI services on a Hitachi Oasis Open MRI. The Hitachi Oasis is a true Open MRI providing a 270 degree, unobstructed view for patients being studied. This technology strongly benefits patients who are claustrophobic but also children and bariatric patients who may experience anxiety in tight spaces.
Additionally, Nebraska Health Imaging offers 16-slice CT, Digital Radiography, and Ultrasound services, two modalities not offered by Omaha Imaging at the time of closing. Professional radiology interpretive services at Nebraska Health Imaging are performed by the academic radiologists from The University of Nebraska Medical Center who offer the most advanced, sub-specialty expertise in the market.
