MOMentum Hosts Successful Hiring Event, Donations Needed

MOMentum’s (www.momswithmomentum.org) first hiring event for moms was a success! The event, held on August 24, was an opportunity for moms to connect with other moms, some amazing employers, and MOMentum staff and volunteers. There were seven employers who participated, along with two presenters who spoke of community resources. 16 job seekers and four community organizers/case managers attended. 25% of the moms who attended had interviews or follow-up calls scheduled with employers by the time they had left the event.

To continue their work, MOMentum is asking for the business community’s support. By making a donation, you can sponsor moms in their journey to securing employment. Donation suggestions range from one week of transportation to and from work to sponsoring a mom for the first six months in a new job; any type of donation is welcome so that MOMentum can continue helping moms and provide their services free-of-charge. Visit momswithmomentum.org/get-involved to make a donation.

MOMentum’s mission is to reduce the feminization of poverty by eliminating barriers to employment for moms while helping employers diversify their workforce. MOMentum provides 1:1 support to ANY mom looking for employment opportunities, but their target audience is single moms and/or moms experiencing instability/poverty.
