Greater Omaha SCORE Honors Four Entrepreneurs

On May 12, during Small Business Week, the Greater Omaha SCORE (omaha.score.org) honored four local clients who started and developed their businesses.

The winners are from four different fields.  Tom Westman, founder of Downtown Hound, was recognized for his successful dog sitting business in a 50,000 square foot facility and for the work he’s doing to open a second site.  When the new location opens, he’ll have 100,000 square feet.

John Sievers retired from 26 years in the United States Air Force.  He worked with SCORE to develop his business plan for Green Beans Coffee at 168th and Harrison where they serve coffee and food made fresh daily.

Drs. Sara Roberts and Amy Walzer contacted SCORE to help them with their business organization.  The two Ph.Ds. are Industrial Organizational Psychologists.  Their business, Category One Consulting, provides management consulting to corporations and non-profits.

David Kroupa of David Kroupa Agency, Inc., an American Family Insurance company, worked with a SCORE mentor to broaden his strategic thinking.  Mr. Kroupa thanked SCORE saying, “The knowledge and wisdom you have imparted upon me has been a great help and support.  In 2015 my agency won three different key growth contest incentives at the top company level.”
