Cheever Construction ( cheeverconstruction.com) recently joined Southeast Community College, local leaders and industry partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Construction Technology Center on SCC’s Milford Campus, a major investment in the future of skilled trades education in Nebraska.
The new 52,000-square-foot facility will provide hands-on training space for students pursuing careers in construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical technology and concrete construction. Plans for the building include dedicated concrete labs, multiple house build areas and a three-story “playhouse” structure where students can train in real-world construction, HVAC and plumbing scenarios.
As the demand for skilled trades professionals continues to grow across Nebraska, the new center will help prepare students with the technical knowledge and practical experience needed to enter the workforce with confidence. The facility is expected to open in Fall 2028.
Cheever Construction, with architect firm Wilkins ADP, was proud to be part of the groundbreaking and to support a project focused on workforce development and opportunities for future generations across Nebraska.
