Canfield’s Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Any Omaha area camping, hiking, paddling, or outdoor fan has likely shopped at Canfield’s (www.canfields.com) before. In addition to their robust stock and expert outdoor knowledge, fans of the store have another reason to shop there– the company began celebrating their 70th anniversary on May 1, with a multitude of deals and sales to commemorate the milestone.

Canfield’s has been a staple of the Heartland community since 1946, when it opened for its original purpose: a Military Surplus store. Over the years, Canfield’s morphed into an outdoor sporting good hot-spot. Regardless, throughout the decades, the 50,000 square-foot store has kept its signature legacy of equipping the community for outdoor sports and activities.

“We believe very strongly that activities in the outdoors helps have a better life. It improves health and well-being. We take that very seriously when helping our customers get into the best gear,” says owner Scott Marble.

Canfield’s was purchased from its original owners in 2014 by Mr. Marble, who bought it from the family after working there himself for a decade. Today, the Marble family owns and operates the single-location store which sits in the middle of town at 84th and Center Street.

Canfield’s is primarily an outdoor sporting goods store for hiking and camping. They have the largest paddle sports department in 100 miles and are open 7 days a week. For more information, visit: www.canfields.com.
