Camp Legacy, an outdoor summer day camp for kids located at 6860 N. 166th Avenue in Omaha, recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 15th to celebrate the launch of their summer programming.  Keynote speakers at the event included Barb Farho, Education Initiatives Director, City of Omaha Mayor’s Office and Melissa Glenn, Innovative & Retention Manager, Omaha Chamber of Commerce.

Camp Legacy began with an idea when two former Omaha Public School teachers found a vast need for Omaha’s children to go back to a time when kids could simply be kids during their summer break.  At Camp Legacy, campers develop friendships, use their imagination, participate in active, self-regulated play and enjoy what being outdoors has to offer.  Facilities at Camp Legacy include a swimming pool, amphitheater, baseball field, obstacle course, zip line, soccer field, arts & crafts shack, game room, gymnasium, archery field, garden, nature trails, basketball and volleyball courts, waterslide and more!  Camp Legacy offers week-long camps to children who have completed K-6th grades, a junior-counselor program for young ladies and gentleman who have completed 7th-10th grades and a scholarship program for at-risk youth, in partnership with D.R.E.A.M.  For more information about Camp Legacy, please contact Buffy Baca at (402) 884-4424, via email at bacab@legacyprimary.com, or visit www.legacyprimary.com.
