The Omaha office of McCarthy Building Companies has achieved a key safety milestone: surpassing one million hours of self-performed work with zero recordable injuries.

An active contributor to the region’s construction landscape since its establishment in 2001, McCarthy’s Nebraska Business Unit has delivered more than $2 billion of building and infrastructure projects. The company’s work spans the healthcare, education, science and technology, manufacturing, commercial, industrial and water/wastewater sectors. Notable recent projects include the UNMC CORE Building, OrthoNebraska Maple Street Clinic, Douglas County Behavioral Health Center, Papillion Creek Water esource Recovery Facility and multiple cast-in-place parking garages.

Safety is the foundation and primary focus of everyone at McCarthy—from its project teams and craft professionals to its project partners and the individuals who support each team. “Our entire organization embraces a collaborative approach to safety, and we’re committed to ensuring that everyone returns home safely at the end of each day,” said McCarthy Nebraska Market Leader Kris Montgomery.

In early April, McCarthy also earned recognition as one of the top five Best Places to Work in Omaha. Based on the results of an anonymous employee survey, the award reflects the company’s unique culture of ownership and empowerment as a 100% employee-owned company.

With its growing Omaha office at the forefront of local construction excellence, McCarthy is poised to continue shaping Nebraska’s built environment for years to come.
