The third annual Beer and Bacon Festival (omahabeerandbacon.com) will tempt your taste buds for a good cause on Saturday, August 1st at the Old Mattress Factory in downtown Omaha.  The festival, organized by the Omaha Jaycees in cooperation with the Old Mattress Factory, will be compromised of a bacon competition with participants providing samplings of delicious bacon-themed dishes.  Various craft breweries will also be handing out samples of hand crafted beer.  The event benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha and Omaha Jaycees.

The Beer and Bacon Festival will start at 3:00 p.m. at the Old Mattress Factory located on 13th and Cass Streets.  Judging will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at omahabeerandbacon.com. Tickets cost $30, and the first 1,000 ticket sold get a free official Beer and Bacon beer mug. Sponsors of the event include Z92, CD105.9, Action 3 News, Omaha World-Herald, Ideal Images and Quality Brands Budweiser.
