Look into the windows at LeWonderment Amazing Gifts for Curious Children and Dogs at 421 South 11th Street in the Old Market District and the first thing you see is a sign, “Dogs Are Welcome Inside”. As Peggy Pawloski greets you she says, “I am the owner, but Issie is the boss!” An 8 year old black Standard Schnauzer, Isabella Rose, is the store’s Chief Canine Officer and her influence created the area called PupiCurious™. The PupiCurious area of the store is filled with treats, toys, and specialty dog collars/leashes. There is also exceptional art by dog artist, Ron Burns and an incredible wall mural with over 40 photos of Dogs of the Old Market. The dogs of the Old Market receive treats and a special discount when they come shopping with their owners. Issie has her own work space behind the counter where she supervises the daily sales of dog treats, making sure Shari provides her with her share and monitors breaks by letting Dylan know when it’s time for her walks.
