RIVER CITY SIX – CASEY A. MCNARE

Meet Casey A. McNare, the general sales manager at Huber Cadillac (www.hubercadillac.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – Huber Cadillac is truly a family ran and operated local luxury dealer. The culture here is amazing, from both the perspective of an employee and a client. We strive to provide an enjoyable, educational, and transparent luxury experience. We are deeply involved in the community and sponsor several local and national organizations.

How did you get started in the business? – My family has always been my most valued asset and I was looking for a better opportunity for my family and myself. Eight years ago, I decided to try something new! I combined my communication skills, marketing background, and my love for working with people into the automotive world. The rest is history and I never looked back.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Learning the power of slowing down and organizing my thoughts. Faster is not always better.

Tell us a little about your family. – My better half Kelsey and I make a fantastic team. We are very busy to put it lightly. Our two daughters, Lilly (Boo-boo) and Evelyn (Butter), are our world. Lilly is seven years old and plays soccer, participates in cheer and gymnastics, and loves the outdoors. Evelyn is my little genius—too smart for her own good and I love it. She is involved in competitive dance and is in the High Ability Learners program in school.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – The passing of my mother due to breast cancer when I was 21 years old. Sometimes, you have to lose yourself to figure out what kind of person you want to be.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Hunting, fishing, and spending time with family while we work on our new home together.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I swam competitively for 15 years. I went to the national championships my freshman year in college. I missed the Olympic qualifying trials time by less than one second.

Who inspires you? – My mother and father.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The only thing in life that we can control is our actions and reactions, a decision made in anger will never be prosperous.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Positive.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “The General” by Dispatch.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Flying an airplane.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – The Ronald McDonald House. Children are our future, and investing in them will ensure a better world for generations to come. I also give to Nebraska Game & Parks.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Great Gatsby.

What is your favorite movie? – Comedy: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Drama: Saving Private Ryan. Action: The Marvel series.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Dolce.
