Omaha Gives! 24-Hour Charitable Challenge Set for May 20

Be sure to mark your calendars for Omaha Gives! (omahagives.org) on Wednesday, May 20. Omaha Gives! is a 24-hour online fundraising event organized by the Omaha Community Foundation and presented by American National Bank to raise support for nonprofits in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie Counties. It is a community-wide event to show off the area’s spirit of giving, raise awareness about local nonprofits, and celebrate the collective effort it takes to make this community great. Since 2013, this community give-together has raised $49 million for more than 1,000 nonprofits.

In 2019, the Omaha community raised a total of $6.8 million from 18,612 donors, through a record 48,661 donations. The event continues to show consistency with previous Omaha Gives days; this past year, almost one-third of donations were first-time gifts and 88% of the total donations were gifts of $100 or less, reinforcing that giving together makes a significant impact.

There are many ways to get involved with Omaha Gives! Give to your favorite nonprofit with the minimum donation amount is just $1. Provide CHALLENGE FUNDS for a nonprofit close to your heart or create a CHEER PAGE to rally support for nonprofits of your choice. You can also schedule a donation starting May 1 and donate during the event. Be sure to visit omahagives.org to learn more, search profiles of participating nonprofits, make your donation, and track progress during the event on the leaderboard.
