Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital’s Omaha campus is the beneficiary of a memorial named in architect Michael Graves’ honor. Graves passed away on March 12 at the age of 80. DLR Group, Omaha, in association with Michael Graves and Associates, led the architectural and engineering team for the new hospital being built near 175th Plaza and Burke Streets. Graves is an internationally recognized designer who was named one of the 25 most influential people in health care design. Memorials will be used to help build the rehabilitation hospital that Graves designed and where he will be honored with a permanent naming opportunity. The innovative $93 million dollar hospital will feature Graves’ designed furniture in rooms that are equipped with voice activated environmental control systems.

With the hospital in Lincoln at capacity, the 110-bed Omaha facility will offer the metro area a continuum of physical rehabilitation care. Madonna has served patients from 45 states over the past five years, referred from hundreds of different hospitals. Online donations can be made at www.madonna.org.
