Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska Realty, formerly named DEEB Realty, is a full service real estate brokerage firm licensed to serve clients in Nebraska and Iowa.  Megan Bengtson is a REALTOR® with Nebraska Realty.

Tell us a little about your business. – I’ve been in the business for over ten years and work exclusively with residential properties.  My team and I sell all over the Omaha Metro area and we are here to Make Your Dreams Come Home.  We pride ourselves on providing excellent service and want to be your ‘go-to’ person for any real estate question you may have.  We feel that level of service is shown with all of our repeat clients and past client referrals.

How did you get started in the business? – As a junior at UNL, real estate intrigued me and I truly enjoyed helping people.  I thought becoming a REALTOR® would be a perfect fit for me.  I started out learning valuable skills and tools from a top agent in Omaha the day after I graduated, which greatly helped me to find success and grow with the company.  Now I have my own team and teach new agents what I’ve learned about the business. I am truly blessed to do something I love.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – In 2013 I was awarded DEEB’s highest award, The Renee Lampman Outstanding Service Award.  This award is given to one agent with exemplary performance in several key areas:  involvement in the community, real estate industry, yearly production and overall way of conducting themselves personally and professionally.  I was truly humbled and honored by receiving this award.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’m engaged to an amazing man, Aaron Hochstein, who owns his own home building and remodeling company, Highrock. We have two shih tzus, Riley and Cooper, and are set to get married in September.   I’m extremely close with my parents, four siblings, nieces and nephews and future in-laws.  My step-mom, Darla Bengtson and I sell real estate together on my team.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Becoming involved in networking groups and organizations within the real estate industry has helped me brand business in a positive way.  I have been able to serve in various leadership positions and was the 2013 President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.  This position helped me acquire leadership skills and the confidence to do anything I put my mind to.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – You’ll get out what you put in.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am a member of the networking group, Omaha Professionals Untiled in Service (OPUS).  We meet weekly for meetings to build relationships and provide referrals but beyond that our group’s mission is to give back to our community.  As a group, throughout the year, we volunteer our time and money to different non-profits in Omaha that are important to the members of our group.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – I LOVE food!  Any place with a good wine list and an amazing cheese platter.  Spezia, Pitch, Lot 2 just to name a few.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Jimmy Fallon.  There would always be something to talk about followed by lots of laughter.
