Two Men And A Truck is a full service local and long distance moving company. They provide packing and unpacking services and carry a complete line of boxes and packing materials.

How long have you been in Omaha?
I worked for my son Marty starting in 1995 and enjoyed it so much I asked if I could purchase it from him and the rest is history! I signed the paperwork in July of 1995.

Who are the owners/important executives?
I (Eileen Marrison) am the President, my sons Marty and Bryan are the Vice Presidents, my son Bill is the Treasurer and my daughter Tanya is the Secretary.

What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours?
We are a customer service company that moves people! Our employees are fully trained and are not leased, we do pre-employment criminal background checks and drug screens plus random drug screens throughout their employment.

What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with?
BBB,  Nebraska Truckers Association, American Moving and Storage Association, Home Builders Association, NFIB, Omaha Chamber Of Commerce, Sarpy County Chamber, Fremont Chamber, Omaha Ethics Alliance,  and we volunteer our services to Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Toys for Tots, YWCA, United Way & Foster Care Closet.

Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement?
Our Mission is to continuously strive to exceed customer expectations in value and high standard of satisfaction.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years?
We noticed due to the unsure economy, our customers were doing more of their move such as taking the small items and boxes themselves and leaving the large items for us to move. We also noticed they were doing more of their own packing, rather than hire a professional company to do the packing for them.

What do you see happening with the business in the next five years?
We currently have twenty one trucks and, if the economy rebounds, we will add more trucks to our fleet and more employees.

What is one of the biggest challenges that your company has faced?
The biggest challenge we have faced was when we were expanding, trying to find a building large enough to accommodate us and a parking lot for all the trucks.

What has been your most important achievement as a business?
I would say it is our community involvement. Because the people of Omaha have supported us we have been able to donate our services to Non-Profit groups such as Salvation Army, YWCA, United Way, Catholic Charities and Toys for Tots. We also joined other franchises this year in the Two Men And A Truck “Movers For Moms” program.  Mother’s Day should be a happy time, unfortunately, many moms are forced to spend this holiday living in community shelters, the victims of domestic abuse or homelessness. For these women, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has initiated Movers for Moms®, a community-based program collecting simple treasures such as toilet paper, tooth paste, shampoo, conditioner, food and furniture. We chose the YWCA to partner with this year and collected approximately 15,000 items to be distributed by the YWCA. There were so many items the YWCA donated to 3 other shelters in Omaha.

What was the biggest turning point in your business?
say it was 2008 when the economy started going down. We had to sit down and talk to our staff about our wants and needs for the company to be able to survive the downturn.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know?
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/ INTERNATIONAL, Inc. started in Lansing, Michigan as an after-school business for two brothers in high school. Now, 20+ years later, it includes 32 states, three countries, more than 200 locations and nearly 1,300 trucks. Lincoln was one of the first 10 franchises.

What is one goal for your business that you have yet to accomplish?
We would like to own our own building with enough space to offer storage to our customers.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
We will be offering pink boxes in honor of Breast Cancer month in October, being sold at cost.

And on a final note “Two Men and a Truck is often imitated but never duplicated. We have no affiliation with any other “Two Men”-type ads. You know it’s the real thing when you see the white vehicles with stick men in the doodle truck!”
