McGuigan Arts Academy – Where Students Create Boldly

The McGuigan Arts Academy (https://www.mcguiganartsacademy.com/) is designed to give anyone the opportunity to learn confidence, cooperation, and creativity through the arts. It’s more than the development of talent; it’s the development of the human spirit. The Academy provides students with a unique experience through their collaborative approach to theatre, art, and music education, offering a range of group lessons as well as private instruction in guitar, piano, voice, violin, acting, and art. Young artists and future rock stars have the unmatchable ability to work with nationally recognized touring artists with years of experience. The McGuigan Arts Academy is an extraordinary space to explore creativity in bold, new ways!

McGuigan Arts Academy was founded by Billy McGuigan after the pandemic devastated the entertainment industry and left entertainers unable to tour across the country. Billy and his team took their attention away from a national level to a local level, and brainstormed ways they could benefit their community. This led to the establishment of McGuigan Arts Academy. Working alongside Billy are Artistic and Education Director Kimberly Faith Hickman and CEO Kate Whitecotton. When the Academy first opened, they thought it would take a year to outgrow their starting location, but quickly realized after three months that there was a greater need to deliver the beauty and magic of the arts to the Omaha community and moved into their larger, current studio in Countryside Village.

One of the unique aspects of McGuigan Arts Academy is their students’ opportunity to work hands-on with touring professionals who are actively working in the entertainment industry. The instructors provide real world experience that adds to an atmosphere that allows their students to explore their creativity.
