Not much has changed during that time in terms of their old-fashioned meat market business model with a focus on quality products and excellent customer service, but a lot has changed as far as selection and modern conveniences.

How long have you been in Omaha? – Just Good Meat was founded by Pat Costello in 1959, with its original location in the heart of Omaha and three locations at one point before consolidating to our current location on 84th Street between L and F Streets, so this has always been our home.

What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours? – I would say the quality of our meat combined with the superior customer service we pride ourselves in extending to our clientele. We’ve also made it a point to meet a need when we see one; we’re all about staying ahead of the curve by tailoring our offerings to what our customers are requesting and taking the hassle out of preparing or serving a delicious (and healthy!) meal in any way we can.

What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with? – We support many local organizations throughout the year, but we especially have a lot of involvement with the Francis House and the Ancient Order of Hibernians (Father Flanagan Division), which raises money for the Madonna House. Our latest endeavor has been partnering with YES (Youth Emergency Services). They have about 40 shelters for kids who have nowhere to go, and offer programming that helps them get on their feet and teaches them critical life skills. We’ll be involved with the local Dancing With The Stars fundraiser next July, so make sure to vote Sean Fuller in 2017!

Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement? – Our Core Values at Just Good Meat are the 4 F’s: *Finest quality and variety of meat in Omaha. *Fun, fast and friendly service. *Focus on at-home convenience. *Fresh, clean and familiar.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years? – We’ve noticed a huge bump in people wanting all-natural products, which suits us perfectly because we’ve always been invested in bringing that to our clients. Building upon that, we’ve also seen a change with people wanting to know exactly where their food is sourced. Farm to table is really big right now, and again, we have partnered with local farmers and ranchers for years, so that’s really nothing new for us.

What do you see happening with the business in the next five years? – With the recent launch of our online store, which allows our customers to do all of their shopping wherever they may be with the convenience of having their order delivered or ready for pick-up in the store, we anticipate growing our online presence and building upon that area of our business. Our ultimate goal is to continue to grow and offer more specialty options for our customers while keeping the traditional “old school” feel that Just Good Meat is all about.
