Staff of Strictly Business ate at the in-hotel restaurant, Gilded Feather, which was a standout in every way. Luxurious booths and a calming, romantic atmosphere make this the ideal place for good-quality food and great service.

We indulged in the Chef’s Charcuterie Board, with delectable bites of meats, cheeses, dips and veggies.

Next came the hand-cut ribeye with Brussels sprouts and roasted potatoes, followed by grilled salmon paired with lemon spaghettini and asparagus for a light, refreshing dish.

The bone-in pork chop was one to be remembered, topped with spiced peach compote and served with summer succotash and a crispy polenta cake. We were unsure about polenta, but this changed our minds. With a rich, deep flavor and crispy outer edge, we fought over the leftovers.

Something else that surprised us was the Mac & Cheese. We all felt like restaurant Mac & Cheese ends up tasting the same—some sort of Velveeta base with a couple of seasonings. This dish was the total opposite. We got it topped with fried chicken, and let me tell you… we were shocked at how good Mac & Cheese could be. With richly seasoned homemade cheese sauce and perfectly fried dark-meat chicken, eyes widened and smiles appeared around the table. Totally blew every other restaurant Mac & Cheese out of the park.

With rotating seasonal menus, every visit could offer something new.
